Let’s get rid of the nasty nast!
We started by taking off all the blue velvety curtains, and taking out the cushions. Then we started removing the nasty wallpaper with scrapers one inch at a time; sometimes we could rip off a whole square foot at a time and boy that was satisfying! Cees used his strength to rip the carpet out where we found about an inch of dust hiding underneath.
*Note all of this was taking place in the middle of the night in the freezing cold…see my cute outfit.
After vacuuming the place out and burning the baby blue carpet we started painting!
We LOVE it when friends come to help!
So, we pretty much just white washed the place to give it a new clean feel.
The other day Cees went to Farmer Lee in Spanish Fork and got all this great old restored barn wood that we’re using to panel some of the walls, make new cabinets, and redo all the flooring.
Good thing Cees has nice friends who will pull all-nighters with him to work on Vie. Yeah, I was definitely sleeping…sorry!
Look how great they did!
Making sweet cabinets
Lightly sanding and applying polyurethane to the sweet cabinets
We even went as far as saving the old shiny gold hardware for the cabinets and steel brushing them into antique-looking perfection.
Of course there are always those who help…and those who help watch.
